Hanson has set about to complete the good work it had started through the Walk in support of the people working against AIDS and poverty. To this end, Hanson brings about awareness in the fans by asking them to walk barefoot with the band for a mile before each concert, to simulate what an African child goes through each day. Hanson had begun the "Walk around the World Tour" in September last year, but the walk had to be suspended as Isaac had to go undergo surgery for a pulmonary embolism. The Walk resumed in May 2008. Formed by the three Hanson brothers, Issac, Taylor and Zac Hanson, Hanson first celebrated success through their debut album, Middle of Nowhere. The band celebrated its tenth anniversary last May.
